In the spring of 2010, the Sweden Democrat party, a political organization with roots in the Swedish White Power Movement, is full of anticipation. Its campaign, run from a secret office in a garage in Stockholm, is finally beginning to show results. Every argument has been refined and the media keeps swallowing their baits like a pack of hungry wolves. The conditions are better than ever; the party candidates have spotless records and the campaign budget leaves little to wish for.

In Thank You, Goodbye, Go Home you meet an isolated group of extreme right political activists. They have few friends outside of the party, and choose to take part of news through the party’s own biased newspaper. They are Sweden Democrats – members of an extreme right wing party frowned upon by the majority. Their movement is dominated by men who feel misunderstood and let down by society, men who are fuelled by an urge to vindicate themselves. The mentality is “Us and Them”, with them being immigrants in general, and Muslims and non-Europeans in particular.

This documentary follows three characters, all young and active party members, during the campaigning for the 2010 elections.

The film was shown as a Work in progress at the Stockholm Film Festival 2011:
